AUXERRINE is the studio of Brent Chesanek.
BRENT CHESANEK is a filmmaker operating in the shadows somewhere between narrative, documentary, and experimental practice. He grew up in Central Florida during its first Disney-fueled housing boom. His work carries a fascination with everyday Floridian and broader American self-mythologies.
Chesanek’s films have screened at CPH:DOX, Seattle International Film Festival, Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal, Denver Film Festival, DOXA, Singapore International Film Festival, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Art Basel Miami Beach, US-In-Progress Paris, and more.
He has also worked in a more commercial capacity, serving as creative director on spots for clients such as FujiFilm and Haitian Initiative, music video director (John Vanderslice) and editor (The Cure, 50 Cent & The Game, The Hives, more), editor for Loyal Kaspar on spots for CNN and A&E, and graphic designer and animator for networks such as Showtime, Lifetime, and Nickelodeon.
Chesanek studied journalism/telecom and film theory at the University of Florida. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
